Attack Your Life - What To Do When You Screw Up

With issues that involve the mind there is no perfect solution.  You do not wake up one day and you are fixed.  It takes time people.  Do not forget this.  In many cases you have developed your bad habits over decades.  It will not be a quick fix.

You will screw up.  The biggest problem is that most of the time your issues run in cycles or circles and any screw-up compounds the problem.  Let me give you an example.

The biggest problem that I have suffered with is jealousy.  Jealousy is a terrible awful thing and is incredibly destructive to a relationship.  Here is exactly what has happened to me in the past.  I am going along doing just fine.  Then all of a sudden some events happen in a sequence that I find out of ordinary.  I become jealous.  Once I realize I have been an idiot I go through a tremendously difficult period filled with anxiety.  I am now anxious because I have screwed up once again.  And in my MIND I have even more reason to worry about my significant other because I blew it.  This creates an even more intense amount of jealousy.  It is a cycle.  Once I am over my anxiety, then I go through a period of depression because in my MIND I will never be fixed.  There must be something defective about me.

I believe anger breeds more anger, depression breeds more depression, and anxiety bears more anxiety.

The most important thing to do when you screw up is to stop the slide.  Just stop it.  Stop it.  STOP IT!

You screwed up.  Get over it.  Continue back on the track to self-improvement.  Climb back on the horse.  Cowboy up.

Determination and self-discipline are two components that are completely necessary to improve your life.
