Senator John McCain Can We Move Past The "Surge" Issue?

From watching national news I understand three things very well. McCain wanted the surge. Obama did not want the surge. The surge decreased violence.

Good Lord, I am over it. I understand, the American people understand.

Can we talk about our nation's economy? Can we talk about independence from foreign oil? Is Social Security still going to be around when I need it? What about all these damn hospital bills or that my health insurance premiums go up every year?

I will give you that we only receive what the media allows.  I am certain that you have talked about other issues in your campaign visits.  I did see you with the Dalai Lama. When you are in an interview and you are asked a question about a different issue you will allow yourself to stray from topic.  That being said I believe that when you have a national audience and you or your speech writers are in control your message is of a singular focus.

Do not get me wrong the war in Iraq is vitally important due to the number of American lives it has cost as well as the fact that it is costing the American people billions of dollars every week.

The point is that if Michael Jordan could only dribble the basketball no one would know who he is today. If Tiger Woods could only putt he would probably be an accountant today with a really good short game. And if Jeff Gordon could only turn right he probably would not be able to find insurance.

Is the "surge" all you have? Is that it? I hope not. Because there are more than one issue that I care about right now.

I am undecided on either candidate but I get highly irritated with a candidate who focuses on one issue or does nothing else but attack the other candidate. I will not vote for a candidate who runs a negative campaign.

The only other topic you have discussed lately is Obama's travels overseas. A trip that you had previously spoke negative about him for not taking. In fact you wanted to take the trip together. Possibly so you could hold his hand and teach the young lad how the world really works.

Guess what? He took the trip and he took it all by himself. Now all you can say is that it was nothing more than a photo opportunity. He is the Democratic contender for President of the United States. I assure you there were going to be a few people taking photos. When you take your trip there might be a few reporters as well.

For Obama it is damned if you do, damned if you don't.
