Stopping The Paparazzi While watching TV today I happened upon some aerial footage of Britney Spears driving thru LA on Wednesday after being released from the hospital. What I saw turned my stomach. I found it rather offensive and disgusting. While at a stop light Britney's car was engulfed literally by
no less than fifteen photographers. They were on the hood of her car
and had their camera's clicking in every window. When the light turned
green they scattered.
These photographers more closely resemble vultures than they do human beings. Vultures circle dead animals which they use to fill their stomachs. Paparazzi circle around celebrities which they use to pad their pocketbooks. In their world greed has replaced dignity and any sense of decorum. We have all witnessed scuffling between various celebrities and the paparazzi. When I saw that footage yesterday I now understand why. That being said I do not think that Britney does everything that she can do to avoid the paparazzi. Perhaps at some level she even revels in the attention. I also think that the American public and their fascination with the lives of celebrities bears a certain responsibility. What can be done then? The paparazzi are protected by the same laws that govern us. There is little that the legal system can do to remedy this despicable behavior. Perhaps I should say there is little that they are willing to do. However I believe that there is a group of people that can do something. Tune in tomorrow to coffeeandprozac.com for what I believe could be the only solution to this
problem. ----------------------------------------------- |
