Take It Easy!  Yoga - Stress Relief Tactic #7

For over 5000 years people have been practicing yoga.  There must be something to it.  Thankfully the “Macarena” did not catch on like that, however the “Chicken Dance” has been amazingly persistent.  Anyway, yoga wraps many techniques for managing stress into one discipline, breathing, physical posture and mental imagery to name a few.

Using spiritual, ethereal "speak" it is the practice of bringing together the mind, body and spirit.

Practicing yoga can result in the following; reduced stress, sound sleep, lower blood pressure, lower heart rate, spiritual growth, sense of well-being, reduced anxiety, and increased strength and flexibility.

Yoga involves stretching the body, while keeping breathing slow and controlled. The effect is both relaxing and energizing.

The amount of time involved can hinder many people effort to master this stress relieving technique.  Money can also stop some people in that the classes can be a bit pricy.  Videos and books however are available as an inexpensive option for those who prefer to go at their own pace.
